Nepal Telecom (NTC) has announced a temporary suspension of its Caller Ring Back Tone (CRBT) service after users reported irregularities during calls. The company confirmed that the service has stopped functioning due to a technical problem and will remain unavailable until further notice.
NTC said its technical teams are already working on restoring the service and apologized for the inconvenience. The CRBT service, which allows subscribers to replace the standard call tone with music or personalized audio, has been popular with many users, though it has also faced criticism in the past as a “forced” value-added service.
The outage has sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some users have requested a swift restoration, others expressed indifference. NTC has not disclosed the exact cause of the disruption but assured subscribers that the service will be reinstated soon.
