Orange Tunisie has announced the appointment of Stéphane Varret as its new Managing Director, succeeding Thierry Millet, who has taken over as CEO of Orange Money Group.
With over 20 years of experience in the Orange group across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, Varret has held key roles in finance, development, and business transformation. Most recently, since March 2023, he served as Director of Orange Middle East and Africa (OMEA), overseeing operations in 17 countries. In this role, he implemented the Lead the Future strategic plan and drove major initiatives in connectivity, infrastructure — including towers and satellites — and mobile financial services. He also led external growth projects such as the Orange-Vodacom joint venture in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Varret holds degrees in economics (Paris II Panthéon University), business management (ISC Paris), and executive finance and management (ESCP Europe). His career includes leadership positions such as CFO of Orange Spain, where he played a key role in returning the company to growth and managing the strategic merger with Masmovil, and Deputy Managing Director of Orange Côte d’Ivoire.
His deep international experience and expertise in complex project management are expected to strengthen Orange Tunisie’s ambitions in innovation, digital transformation, operational excellence, and the rollout of high-speed services, positioning the company to play a leading role in Tunisia’s evolving telecom sector.
