Sharjah’s IGCF 2025 Puts AI at the Core of Government Communication Debate

Sharjah – The 14th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF 2025), scheduled for September 10–11 at Expo Centre Sharjah under the theme “Communication for Quality of Life,” is set to spotlight artificial intelligence (AI) as a central theme. Pre-forum activities, including the “COMMS” programme at Al Majaz Amphitheatre, are equipping UAE media and communication students with the latest AI-driven skills to navigate modern government communication.

Organised by the Sharjah Press Club of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), IGCF 2025 will explore AI’s implications across media, law, training, and cybersecurity, while offering young generations opportunities to experiment with creative tools through initiatives like the “AI Skills Challenge.” This interactive competition engages participants aged 10–16 in programming, robotics, and 3D printing, applying technology to real-world issues such as food security and quality of life.

Specialised sessions will also examine AI in law, ethical considerations in media communication, and digital media’s role in bolstering cyber-resilience. The “COMMS” programme has already hosted workshops on AI-generated media content, social media analytics, and crisis communication strategies, blending academic insights with hands-on training.

The forum’s comprehensive agenda includes 51 sessions, 22 workshops, and 110+ activities, featuring over 237 international speakers and 30 partners from government, academia, and industry. Discussions will address global priorities such as food security, public health, education, environmental sustainability, and the green economy, underscoring the role of strategic communication in shaping policy and driving collective action for a sustainable future.
