SK Telecom, South Korea’s largest mobile carrier, has entered into a strategic partnership with TimeTree, the Japanese operator of a widely used schedule-sharing app, announcing an investment of 2.2 billion yen (US$14.8 million). The agreement, signed Friday in Tokyo, marks a major step in SK Telecom’s push into the Japanese AI market.
The collaboration will integrate SK Telecom’s AI agent technology into TimeTree, representing the first overseas application of its AI solutions. With over 67 million users worldwide, TimeTree provides a strong platform for SK Telecom to expand its AI-driven service ecosystem and establish Japan as a regional hub for global AI agent services.
Founded in 2014, TimeTree has grown into one of Japan’s most popular calendar and communication apps. By combining SK Telecom’s AI expertise with TimeTree’s user base, the partnership is expected to enhance personalized digital experiences, strengthen productivity tools, and open new opportunities for AI adoption in everyday life.
“Collaboration with TimeTree is an important opportunity for SK Telecom to create new value in the global market through AI agent technology,” said SK Telecom CEO Ryu Young-sang. “We will lead the expansion of the AI agent service ecosystem in South Korea and Japan.”
