Algeria’s FNI Partners with Four Firms to Launch National Technology Hub

Algeria’s National Investment Fund (FNI) has signed an agreement with four digital companies—Optimum Télécom Algérie (Djezzy), IT-DEV Spa, Inet Spa, and Smart Test Spa—to establish a national technology hub. The initiative, announced on September 16, marks a strategic step in Algeria’s efforts to modernize services and accelerate digital transformation.

According to FNI, the hub is designed to become a key player in the country’s digitization drive, with an initial focus on the financial sector. By pooling expertise, infrastructure, and FNI’s technological subsidiaries, the hub will integrate digital solutions into financial services while supporting public institutions and businesses in their digital transition.

The project is aligned with Algeria’s National Digital Transformation Strategy 2030, which emphasizes digital governance, innovation, and efficiency in public services. In recent years, Algeria has invested heavily in its telecom infrastructure, expanded 4G coverage to over 85% of the population, and introduced digital skills training programs. The new hub aims to build on these achievements by creating a structured ecosystem that optimizes resources and leverages local expertise.

Once operational, the technology hub is expected to attract regional and international partners, foster innovation in digital finance, and enhance the competitiveness of Algerian startups and enterprises. It will also strengthen the delivery of modern, high-performance services for citizens and businesses, positioning Algeria as a stronger player in the regional digital economy.
