Kuwait City — Minister of State for Communications Affairs Omar Al-Omar has affirmed that Kuwait’s collaboration with Google Cloud reflects the nation’s strong commitment to embracing advanced digital solutions and strengthening its digital infrastructure.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after attending a dialogue workshop organized by the National Cybersecurity Center in cooperation with Google Cloud, Al-Omar stressed that cloud computing plays a critical role in supporting development across multiple sectors. He noted that the partnership, signed under a strategic framework agreement, aims to accelerate Kuwait’s digital transformation and expand its capabilities in cloud services.
Al-Omar highlighted the importance of integrating cloud computing with national cybersecurity systems, describing it as a foundational safeguard for data protection that ensures continuity and sustainability of digital services.
The workshop, titled “Challenges of Adopting Cloud Computing,” brought together national leaders and cybersecurity experts to examine opportunities and challenges in cloud adoption. Eng. Abeer Al-Awadhi, Head of the National Cybersecurity Center, praised the partnership with Google Cloud, emphasizing the role of inter-agency cooperation in strengthening Kuwait’s cybersecurity infrastructure.
Al-Awadhi also underscored the importance of data classification and management in safeguarding information and maintaining confidentiality, reliability, and trust in digital services.
The Kuwait–Google Cloud partnership reflects the country’s long-term vision for technological advancement and sustainable development, positioning cloud computing as a driver of innovation, resilience, and secure digital growth.
