Telecom Egypt Expands Regional Reach with New PoP at Aqaba Digital Hub and Coral Bridge Cable

Telecom Egypt, the country’s leading integrated telecom operator and a major subsea cable player in the region, has announced the launch of a new Point of Presence (PoP) at the Aqaba Digital Hub (ADH) in Jordan.

The move extends Telecom Egypt’s global network into ADH, the largest carrier-neutral Tier III data center in Jordan, and strengthens its role as a regional hub for digital transformation. The new PoP is designed to support soaring global demand for high-bandwidth services, enabling seamless interconnection and efficient regional traffic flows. Businesses and hyperscalers across the Middle East will gain access to robust, reliable, and high-capacity infrastructure.

This milestone builds on the successful launch of the Coral Bridge subsea cable, a state-of-the-art 15-kilometer express system jointly developed with NaiTel, ADH’s telecom arm. Coral Bridge connects Telecom Egypt’s Taba landing station in Sinai to ADH’s open-access facility in Aqaba, creating a powerful foundation for onward connectivity. Together, the PoP and Coral Bridge strengthen regional resilience, open new digital pathways, and support applications ranging from cloud services to AI-driven platforms and international data transit.

Mohamed Nasr, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, emphasized that the dual initiative reflects a transformative step in strengthening the region’s digital backbone. “Coral Bridge and the new PoP not only bridge Egypt and Jordan but also create diverse routes for resilient, seamless connectivity,” he said.

Eyad Abu Khorma, Founder and CEO of Aqaba Digital Hub, highlighted the strategic significance of combining Egypt’s extensive subsea network with Aqaba’s neutral landing station and data center. “Together, we are opening digital gateways that enhance connectivity across Jordan, the Middle East, and beyond,” he noted.

By investing in global infrastructure and collaborating with leading industry players, Telecom Egypt is reinforcing its position as a pivotal force in meeting the region’s connectivity needs while laying the groundwork for future digital growth.
