Accenture Partners with Cassava to Scale Africa’s AI Infrastructure

Cassava Technologies has deepened its AI ambitions in Africa by partnering with Accenture to expand sovereign AI capabilities across the continent. The collaboration leverages Accenture’s AI Refinery platform alongside Cassava’s GPU-as-a-service model, powered by Nvidia-equipped data centres, to ensure sensitive workloads are processed locally within national boundaries.

The phased rollout mirrors Cassava’s earlier deal with Nvidia, beginning in South Africa before expanding to Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, and Nigeria. Data traffic will be carried on Cassava’s fibre networks, creating a strong backbone for AI applications.

The partnership aims to localise AI solutions by integrating Africa’s unique languages, contexts, and cultural nuances. Target industries include financial services, mining, telecoms, agriculture, and healthcare, where customised AI applications can drive real-world impact.

Cassava CEO Ahmed El Beheiry stressed the company’s commitment to building the infrastructure required to support Africa’s AI revolution, while Accenture highlighted the collaboration’s role in aligning with local regulations and enhancing digital sovereignty.
