Kuwait Deploys AI-Powered Patrols to Enhance Security

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has launched a new AI-equipped security patrol, developed by national specialists under the Human Resources and Information Technology Sector. The patrol integrates artificial intelligence, facial recognition, and smart surveillance to improve security performance across the country.

The initiative, overseen by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, features advanced capabilities such as mobile cameras linked to AI systems, real-time facial and license plate recognition, and immediate database integration for identifying wanted persons and vehicles. Field personnel also gain access to mobile fingerprint scanners and automated plate detection tools for faster, more accurate operations.

Officials described the patrol as part of Kuwait’s broader push to modernize law enforcement through digital transformation. By embedding AI into surveillance and operational systems, the Ministry aims to accelerate response times, boost accuracy, and build a smarter, data-driven security framework.
