Macquarie Telecom, part of Macquarie Technology Group, has appointed Mike King as its new National Director of Sales. In his new role, King will lead sales, business, and marketing efforts, with a focus on strengthening the company’s position as Australia’s most trusted managed services provider in connectivity, cloud, and cyber.
King brings over 20 years of telecom and cloud sales experience, having held senior positions at TPG Telecom, NTT Communications ICT Solutions, and Optus. He previously served in leadership roles at Macquarie Telecom from 2011–2015 and 2018–2021.
Highlighting the shortcomings of large telcos, King stressed that Macquarie will continue investing in SD-WAN, SASE, cybersecurity, and cloud services to provide greater customer value. He emphasized Macquarie’s ability to deliver integrated solutions under one roof as a key differentiator in the market.
Luke Clifton, Group Executive at Macquarie Telecom, praised King’s return as timely and strategic, citing his deep knowledge of the business and industry expertise. The appointment comes as Macquarie Technology Group expands across cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data centres to drive its next phase of growth.
