Cairo, Egypt — The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSME) has announced new avenues of cooperation with the Republic of South Korea to support small businesses and strengthen entrepreneurship in Egypt.
During a high-level meeting, MSME CEO Basel Rahmy met with South Korean Ambassador to Cairo Kim Jong Hyun, alongside senior representatives from both sides. Talks focused on expanding collaboration in financing, entrepreneurship, professional training, and technology transfer, with an emphasis on adopting South Korea’s best practices in innovation and the integration of the informal sector.
Rahmy noted that the partnership aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to international cooperation as a driver of sustainable economic development. Both parties agreed on the importance of deepening bilateral ties to foster entrepreneurship and create long-term growth opportunities.
At the conclusion of the talks, Ambassador Kim invited the MSME agency to take part in the upcoming Korea-Egypt Economic Cooperation Conference on September 30, while also confirming his attendance at the “Heritage” handicraft exhibition scheduled for October 4.
