Infralectric Launches Pakistan’s First Green Sukuk for Telecom and Deploys AI-Powered Energy Storage

Infralectric, a Brillanz Group company, has unveiled Pakistan’s first Green Sukuk for the telecom sector alongside the completion of a 25MWh AI-powered Energy-Storage-as-a-Service (ESaaS) deployment. The dual initiative marks a milestone in combining sustainable finance with digital infrastructure transformation.

The sukuk, valued at up to Rs3 billion, is fully Shariah-compliant and principal-guaranteed. Developed in partnership with InfraZamin Pakistan, it will finance low-carbon, AI-enabled upgrades to telecom tower infrastructure.

Infralectric’s ESaaS, powered by Thunder AI, reduces reliance on diesel generators by integrating advanced battery storage and intelligent controls across tower sites. This transition is projected to save over 5 million litres of diesel annually, cut 13,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions — equivalent to planting 220,000 trees — and improve operational uptime.

Bilal Qureshi, CEO of Brillanz Group, hailed the development as a “historic moment” for Pakistan’s digital and energy future, underscoring that sustainability and innovation can drive growth together. Fahd Haroon, Minister of State and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Digital Media, called the initiative an example of how finance, technology, and sustainability can converge to modernize infrastructure and advance climate commitments.

InfraZamin Pakistan CEO Maheen Rahman highlighted the sukuk’s innovative structure, noting its role in unlocking private capital through sustainable finance guarantees while supporting climate-resilient infrastructure.

With telecom towers in Pakistan traditionally dependent on diesel gensets, Infralectric’s AI-managed, battery-first model — coupled with the sukuk framework — provides a scalable, repeatable path toward greener, more resilient digital infrastructure nationwide.
