The Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT) has launched the second edition of the Kuwait Initiative for Digital Skills Development, underscoring the country’s commitment to building a knowledge-driven economy. The program, developed in partnership with Google Cloud, focuses on equipping national talent with advanced skills in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
Omar Al-Omar, Minister of State for Communication Affairs, described the initiative as a milestone in Kuwait’s digital transformation journey. He stressed that by providing government employees with advanced training opportunities, the program enhances institutional efficiency and strengthens the quality of public services.
Al-Omar emphasized that investment in human capital is key to achieving the goals of “New Kuwait 2035”, with the initiative fostering innovation, boosting competitiveness, and positioning Kuwait as a regional hub for technology and digital innovation.
He also highlighted that the program represents a long-term strategic partnership with Google Cloud, reflecting a shared commitment to accelerating digital transformation across the country.
Shaimaa Al-Tekreeti, Google Cloud’s Director General in Kuwait, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to empowering the Kuwaiti workforce and driving faster adoption of digital technologies.
Building on the success of the first edition rolled out in October 2023, the second phase expands its focus to include practical applications of emerging technologies, ensuring participants gain hands-on experience to meet the evolving demands of the digital economy.
