Morocco Launches “Digital Hub for Sustainable Development” at UNGA80

Rabat – Morocco has officially launched the “Digital Hub for Sustainable Development” in New York during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80), marking a significant step in advancing digital transformation across Africa and the Arab world.

The initiative, spearheaded by Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), reflects the vision of King Mohammed VI to position Morocco as a regional leader in digital innovation.

The launch event was attended by senior officials, including Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform Amal Falah Sghrouchni, and Permanent Representative to the UN Omar Hilal.

Speaking at the ceremony, Akhannouch underscored the central role of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping the future, emphasizing Morocco’s commitment to harnessing technology for inclusive and sustainable human development.
