Vodafone Qatar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Barzan University College, in collaboration with Swinburne University of Technology (Australia), to enhance ICT services and drive digital transformation in Qatar’s higher education sector.
The agreement, signed at the Australian Embassy in Doha, aims to leverage Vodafone Qatar’s advanced ICT capabilities to boost operational efficiency, promote innovation, and strengthen digital literacy across Barzan University College and the broader educational landscape.
Present at the signing were Sultan al-Thani, Head of Public Sector Sales at Vodafone Qatar; Dr Hassan al-Derham, Vice-Chairman of Barzan University College; and Professor Pascale Quester, Vice-Chancellor and President of Swinburne University of Technology.
The collaboration will see the partners jointly develop programmes, workshops, and initiatives focused on professional development, digital innovation, and industry-academia integration. These efforts align with the Qatar National Vision 2030, which emphasizes building a diversified, knowledge-based economy powered by technology and education.
Sultan al-Thani highlighted that the partnership underscores Vodafone Qatar’s commitment to empowering educational institutions through technology. “We aim to deliver tailored ICT solutions that enhance operational performance and enrich the student experience,” he said.
Dr al-Derham added that the partnership represents a major step in integrating technology into education. “By bridging academia and industry, we are preparing students to thrive in the digital economy and contribute meaningfully to Qatar’s sustainable growth,” he noted.
The MoU marks a new milestone in advancing Qatar’s digital education agenda through strategic collaboration between academia, industry, and international partners.
