Ucom’s Ralph Yirikian Outlines Vision for Telecommunications in the AI Era

Ralph Yirikian, General Director of Ucom, presented his forward-looking vision for the telecommunications sector in the age of artificial intelligence (AI) during the annual conference “Governance, Risk, and Compliance in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Assets,” organized by the Internal Auditors Institute – Armenia NGO, where Ucom served as Technology Partner.

Telecom’s Role in the AI-Driven Future

Speaking to an audience of more than 150 professionals and experts from the UAE, the Netherlands, the UK, Lebanon, Slovenia, and other countries, Yirikian delivered a keynote address titled “From Connection to Responsibility: Telecommunications in the Era of AI.”

He highlighted that the telecommunications sector must evolve beyond connectivity, taking responsibility for data protection, digital trust, and secure interactions in a rapidly digitalizing world.

“At Ucom, we recognize that artificial intelligence and digital technologies are shaping the future of every industry — from business to public governance,” Yirikian said. “Telecommunications stands as a key pillar of this ecosystem. We are responsible not only for the quality and speed of connectivity but also for ensuring trust and security in the digital era.”

A commemorative souvenir was presented to Yirikian in recognition of Ucom’s contribution as the event’s Technology Partner.

Ara Chalabyan, President of the Internal Auditors Institute – Armenia, commended the conference’s success in fostering dialogue around AI governance, digital assets, and risk management, calling it “a vital platform for sharing insights and building resilience.”
