stc Bahrain and center3 Advance $320 Million ICT Mega Projects

Manama, November 3, 2025 — stc Bahrain and center3 have announced major progress on two of Bahrain’s most significant digital infrastructure projects — the 2Africa Pearls Submarine Cable and the Bahrain Data Center Park — representing a combined investment of up to $320 million. Supported by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), both initiatives are central to advancing the Kingdom’s Economic Vision 2030 and digital transformation goals.

The 2Africa Pearls Subsea Cable, part of the world’s largest submarine cable system, will connect 33 countries through 46 landing points, including new deployments across Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Additional landings in Iraq and the United Arab Emirates are planned by the end of 2025, with full operational readiness targeted for Q3 2026. Once completed, the system will deliver massive data capacity, low latency, and greater network resilience, firmly integrating Bahrain into global digital corridors and strengthening regional connectivity.

Meanwhile, the Bahrain Data Center Park, now 65% complete, is rapidly taking shape as a major cloud and hyperscale hub for the Middle East. Designed to support enterprise digital transformation and uphold data sovereignty, the facility aligns with Bahrain’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.

Together, these two projects reinforce Bahrain’s position as a regional digital powerhouse, enhancing its infrastructure, boosting competitiveness, and enabling the Kingdom’s transition to a sustainable, innovation-driven economy.
