Beyon Unveils Bahrain’s First Fully Green Solar-Powered Data Centre

Bahrain-based technology group Beyon has announced the launch of its second fully green, solar-powered data centre following the completion of Phase 3 of the Beyon Solar Park, developed in collaboration with Almoayyed Solar.

With an investment of BHD520,000 (approximately US$1.4 million), the expanded solar park now provides 100% renewable energy to Beyon’s Tier III-certified data centre in Hamala. The on-grid solar system covers more than 13,000 square metres and includes 2,588 high-efficiency solar panels generating around 2.5 GWh of clean energy annually—cutting carbon emissions by 1,777 tons of CO₂ each year.

Beyond sustainability, the new infrastructure boosts operational resilience by offering redundant power sources alongside existing generator and EWA feeds, ensuring continuous uptime for critical systems. This enables enterprises to scale their operations securely and sustainably in line with Bahrain’s growing digital ecosystem.

The announcement comes shortly after the commissioning of Beyon’s new Batelco by Beyon White Space Data Centre, a 6,000-square-metre facility within the company’s 140,000-square-metre Data Oasis campus in southern Bahrain. The White Space centre is designed for AI, cloud providers, hyperscalers, and large enterprises, featuring redundant power, cooling, and high scalability.

Beyon’s dual solar-powered data centres reflect the company’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and digital infrastructure leadership, reinforcing Bahrain’s position as a green technology hub in the Middle East.
