Cairo — November 7, 2025: In a landmark step toward youth financial empowerment, eNovate, a subsidiary of e-Finance Investment Group, has launched “Rize”, Egypt’s first digital banking product for university students. Developed under the Youth Banking as a Service (Y-BaaS) model, the initiative is a collaboration with Visa and Arab Bank, reflecting a shared vision for advancing digital transformation and financial inclusion.
Unveiled at Helwan University, Rize integrates a multi-purpose prepaid card with a mobile application, designed specifically for students within university ecosystems. The Rize card also serves as an official university ID, displaying the student’s name, photo, faculty, and ID number, while enabling secure payments and cashless transactions.
Nashwa Kamel, CEO and Managing Director of eNovate, described Rize as “a comprehensive platform that builds financial literacy and independence among youth,” emphasizing that investing in young people “is investing in Egypt’s digital future.”
In the first phase, 64,000 Rize cards have been distributed across 22 faculties at Helwan University’s main and Zamalek campuses, making it the first academic institution in Egypt to implement a fully integrated digital banking ecosystem.
Through the Rize app, students can track expenses, withdraw and deposit cash via ATMs, transfer funds through the Instant Payment Network (IPN), and make peer-to-peer payments between Rize users — all in a secure, transparent, and user-friendly environment.
Dr. Said Kandil, President of Helwan University, said the initiative “digitizes student services and enhances the overall campus experience.”
Malak El Baba, General Manager of Visa Egypt, highlighted Rize as “a milestone for financial inclusion,” while Ahmed Ismail Hassan of Arab Bank Egypt reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to empowering youth through innovative financial solutions.
Ibrahim Sarhan, Chairman of e-Finance Investment Group, called Rize “a reflection of our mission to lead digital transformation and promote a financially inclusive society.”
The Rize project marks the beginning of eNovate’s wider plan to roll out youth-centric financial ecosystems across Egyptian universities — positioning the company as a key enabler of fintech innovation in Egypt and the wider region.
