A delegation of Sri Lankan female-led tech entrepreneurs showcased their innovations at GITEX Global & Expand North Star 2025, one of the world’s premier technology and investment exhibitions, held in Dubai from October 12–17, 2025. The initiative was organized by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai under the Technical Exposure Programme.
The delegation included four female-led SMEs, two large-scale technology firms, and an EDB representative, presenting Sri Lanka’s growing digital innovation landscape to an international audience. GITEX 2025 drew over 200,000 attendees, 6,000 exhibitors, and participants from 180+ countries, featuring conference sessions on AI, cybersecurity, sustainability, future mobility, and the metaverse.
Beyond exhibiting, the Sri Lankan entrepreneurs took part in high-level networking events hosted by regional and global partners, including receptions by the Pakistan Embassy, India’s ESC Council, and the She Trades Hub of the UAE. They also engaged with startup incubators, investor matchmaking forums, and mentorship programs to explore new market opportunities.
The initiative forms part of EDB’s New Exporter Development Programme (NEDP), aimed at empowering Sri Lankan women in technology, expanding export potential, and fostering global linkages for female-led innovation.
