Umniah by Beyon has appointed Ericsson as its exclusive radio access network (RAN) partner under a five-year deal to modernize and expand its 3G, 4G, and 5G infrastructure across Jordan. The agreement will see the deployment of Ericsson Radio System solutions, including Massive MIMO TDD AIR 6419, dual-band Radio 4490, and Basebands 6631 and 6621.
These upgrades aim to boost capacity, energy efficiency, and overall network performance nationwide. The collaboration aligns with Jordan’s National Digital Transformation Strategy, focusing on expanding coverage to underserved regions and enabling innovative services such as smart manufacturing, telemedicine, and real-time logistics.
Umniah will also utilize Ericsson Spectrum Sharing to roll out 5G on existing 4G bands with minimal disruption. Both companies emphasized that the partnership will not only accelerate digital inclusion but also promote sustainability and innovation in Jordan’s growing digital economy.
