Qatar Airways Surpasses 100 Aircraft Equipped with Starlink High-Speed Connectivity

Qatar Airways has now installed Starlink connectivity on more than 100 aircraft, marking one of the fastest aviation rollouts of SpaceX’s satellite internet system. The upgrade covers over half of the airline’s wide-body fleet, with installations ahead of schedule as the carrier aims to extend free, high-speed gate-to-gate Wi-Fi across its long-haul network.

The airline began operating the world’s first Starlink-equipped Boeing 777 in October 2024, and has since flown over 30,000 connected flights across six continents. Up to 200 Starlink-enabled flights take place each day, serving major destinations in Asia, Europe, Australia, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East.

Qatar Airways has completed Starlink installations across its Boeing 777 fleet and is now rapidly finalizing upgrades to owned Airbus A350 aircraft. Lease-based aircraft may remain temporarily unconnected.

Passengers onboard Starlink-equipped jets enjoy significantly faster internet speeds than typical home Wi-Fi, enabling real-time streaming, work calls, and uninterrupted messaging throughout the journey — subject to regional regulations.

Qatar Airways CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer said the rollout reflects the airline’s focus on delivering the best travel experience now, not as a future aspiration.
