Zain Kuwait has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Arab Open University – Kuwait (AOU) to establish a comprehensive partnership supporting youth empowerment, education, innovation, CSR, and employment. The agreement aims to equip young Kuwaitis with the skills needed for a knowledge-based digital economy and align academic output with real market needs, especially in the technology sector.
The MoU was signed at the Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC) by Zain Kuwait CEO Nawaf Al-Gharabally and AOU Rector Dr. Salah Al-Hammadi. Zain emphasized that investing in people is essential for building a thriving digital ecosystem. The partnership will support practical training, innovation projects, and recruitment programs to help students transition into careers in technology, telecom, and digital innovation.
Dr. Al-Hammadi highlighted that the agreement expands AOU’s innovation and research ecosystem, giving students access to advanced technical expertise and industry-driven learning opportunities. Both sides will collaborate on joint workshops, training courses, field training programs, and cooperative education. Zain experts will also contribute as lecturers in AOU’s academic events.
The collaboration includes joint innovation initiatives in artificial intelligence, IoT, smart cities, cybersecurity, and entrepreneurship—supporting Zain’s broader digital transformation agenda. CSR and sustainability are key pillars of the partnership, with planned initiatives around environmental sustainability, youth and women empowerment in tech, national campaigns, and community programs.
The MoU also focuses on talent acquisition, including career fairs and opportunities for top AOU graduates to join Zain’s digital and operational teams, reinforcing Kuwait’s ambition to build a diversified, innovation-driven economy.
