Nepal Telecom Rapidly Expands 4G Across Karnali Province

Nepal Telecom (NTC) has accelerated its network expansion in Karnali Province, rolling out new 4G and 2G services across multiple districts to improve connectivity in some of Nepal’s most remote regions. With this latest phase, NTC’s 4G coverage has now reached over 98% of local levels, positioning the company to achieve near blanket coverage nationwide by FY 2082/83.

In Humla, residents of Sarkegad and Adanchuli rural municipalities are receiving 4G and 2G services for the first time, including in settlements such as Unapani, Syaltadi, Barai Gaun, Panchaur, and Kalika. In Dailekh, NTC has activated 4G in key areas of Gurans Rural Municipality, enabling fast broadband and VoLTE HD voice services for communities such as Gurans Bazaar, Goganpani, Patikanla, and Lekgaun. In Jajarkot, new coverage in Junichande Rural Municipality is benefiting wards 7–11 with access to quality 4G connectivity.

In Dolpa, NTC has connected Thuli Bheri Municipality and Shey-Phoksundo Rural Municipality through a new 4G tower at Midagti Lake. This rollout now covers the Phoksundo Trail, Yarsa Patan, Chhepka, Bhokpa, Sagbari, and even remote national park and military areas.

With 4G now available in 749 out of 753 local levels, and FTTH fiber broadband already expanded to all 77 districts under its NT Fiber brand, NTC’s growth reflects a major national effort to bring modern telecom services to rural and underserved communities.
