How Data, Networks, and Access Are Shaping the Future of Knowledge Economies

At the Knowledge Summit 2025 in Dubai, global experts gathered for a session titled “The DNA of Knowledge Markets: Data, Networks, and Access” to explore how emerging technologies and collaborative ecosystems are redefining knowledge-driven economies. Speakers highlighted how intelligent networks, AI, robotics, and advanced data systems are transforming access, skills, and economic opportunity across regions.

e& Group’s Harrison Lung outlined the company’s ‘4D strategy,’ emphasizing investments in digital infrastructure and inclusive connectivity. He spotlighted practical examples such as microfinance-backed device access in Pakistan, free digital upskilling initiatives in Egypt, and the UAE’s new AI Nation – Afaaq programme as models for expanding digital participation.

Osaka University’s Dr. Hiroshi Ishiguro discussed the evolution of a human–avatar symbiotic society, where AI-powered avatars enhance healthcare, service delivery, and knowledge transfer. Meanwhile, international consultant Dr. Daniela Benavente highlighted the rise of a “market for data,” driven by integrating public datasets, private-sector information, and satellite imagery to solve complex national challenges.

Together, the speakers emphasized that the future of knowledge markets will depend on advanced connectivity, intelligent networks, and deep public–private collaboration—core elements needed to accelerate global knowledge-driven development.
