The 11th edition of Syria HIGH TECH opened at the Damascus Fairgrounds, bringing together 225 local, Arab, and international exhibitors in one of the country’s most significant technology events since the war. Organized with the Ministry of Communications and Technology, the exhibition highlights Syria’s renewed push toward digital transformation across smart cities, e-government, electronic payments, AI, and advanced software solutions.
Communications Minister Abdul Salam Haykal called the event a “real opportunity” for tech firms and service providers to exchange expertise, adding that Syria must carefully prepare its market as international companies begin returning and opening offices in Damascus. Finance Minister Mohamed Yisr Barnieh emphasized that digital transformation is now central to national reconstruction, supported by new tax policies to attract investment and foster entrepreneurship.
The expo also drew major regional interest, including a delegation of 80 Jordanian companies led by Jordan’s Minister of Digital Economy, Sami Smeirat, exploring partnerships to support Syria’s digital recovery. Exhibition director Hala Al-Shurbaji described the event as a key platform for showcasing cutting-edge ICT and AI solutions. The exhibition runs until November 24, featuring around 250 booths and daily public sessions.
Syria HIGH TECH 2025 underscores the country’s determination to rebuild its digital economy through innovation, regional collaboration, and private-sector engagement.
