Azerbaijan and Iraq Sign Protocol to Coordinate FM Broadcasting

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and Iraq have signed a new protocol to coordinate FM radio broadcasting between the two countries.

The agreement was reached during a meeting held on the sidelines of the World Telecommunication Development Conference in Baku. Representatives from both sides reviewed the technical requirements for existing and planned FM stations and aligned on frequency allocations and related operational parameters.

The protocol builds on the earlier Memorandum of Understanding signed in Baghdad in 2023 and formalises continued cooperation to ensure smooth, interference-free FM broadcasting across both nations. Both countries also reaffirmed their commitment to maintain technical coordination and deepen bilateral collaboration in the broadcasting domain.
