Pakistan Unveils First Secure ‘Made in Pakistan’ Mobile Phone for Government Communications

Pakistan has developed its first fully local, secure mobile phone—built with domestic hardware and software and intentionally designed without internet access to eliminate hacking, interception, or backdoor threats. Created after WhatsApp communications were compromised during the recent Indo-Pak war, the device ensures that sensitive government conversations remain completely protected.

Developed under a new operating system, the phone allows calls only within a closed secure network and cannot connect to the internet, blocking all forms of remote intrusion, data extraction, or external backups. According to NTC MD Major General (retd) Ali Farhan, 10 devices have already been built and tested, with mass production awaiting final approval and funding. Officials describe the project as a critical national-security milestone, giving Pakistan a self-reliant, interception-proof communication channel for leadership and senior officials.
