Australia Rolls Out Digital Immi App for Pakistani Visa Applicants

Australia has expanded its digital visa services to Pakistan with the launch of the Australian Immi App, allowing eligible applicants to submit passport details and facial biometrics directly through their smartphones. The Australian High Commission called the rollout a major step toward simplifying the visa process and reducing the need for travel to biometric centres.

The app can be used free of charge by applicants who previously provided their facial image and fingerprints to the Department of Home Affairs and hold a valid passport. Australian High Commissioner Timothy Kane said the move will make visa procedures more accessible for travellers, students and skilled workers by enabling secure submissions from any location.

First launched in 2024, the Immi App has already been deployed across the Pacific and Asia, helping thousands complete visa requirements more efficiently. It is now available in 34 countries, including newly added regions in the Middle East, North Africa, Latin America and Europe. Full worldwide coverage is expected by early 2026 for all remaining countries in Australia’s Biometric Collection Program.

Applicants can review eligibility criteria and guidance on the Department of Home Affairs website.
