Kuwait Launches STEM Racing Academy to Empower the Next Generation of Young Innovators

Kuwait’s Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, part of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), has officially launched the STEM Racing Academy at The Avenues Mall, reaffirming its commitment to developing the scientific and engineering skills of Kuwaiti youth. The academy was inaugurated on Tuesday under the patronage of the center’s Chairperson, Eng. Haifa Al-Mudhaf, and attended by senior officials including Mabani Real Estate CEO Eng. Waleed Al-Shuraiaan and General Manager Nada Al-Daihani.

Developed in partnership with Formula 1 and Mabani Real Estate, the STEM Racing Academy targets students aged 15 and 16, offering practical, hands-on training in designing and building miniature racing cars using professional engineering tools and advanced software. Participants gain experience in aerodynamics, programming, design, and teamwork—skills essential for modern engineering careers.

The launch coincides with the start of training for the qualifying rounds of the 2025–2026 National STEM Racing Championship. Winning teams from the national competition will go on to represent Kuwait at the World Championship finals next year, reinforcing the country’s ambition to position its youth on global innovation platforms.

Building on the strong success of last year’s pilot program, the expanded edition now includes weekly specialized workshops. These include the “Junior Racer” program, focused on building race cars and understanding mechanical principles, and “Design Thinking in Tech,” which teaches creative problem-solving and innovation frameworks.

The center invited students passionate about science and engineering to register and take part in this enriched educational journey. The academy aims to equip young innovators with the skills and confidence to excel in engineering fields and compete internationally.
