A major milestone for Algeria’s digital services sector was reached with the inauguration of a new joint call center in Ouargla, launched under the leadership of Minister of Post and Telecommunications Sid Ali Zerrouki. The facility unifies customer service operations for Algérie Poste, Mobilis, and Algérie Télécom, marking a significant step toward modernizing nationwide service delivery.
Located in Beni Thour, the center is equipped with advanced technologies capable of handling customer inquiries from across the country. The initiative aims to enhance service quality, reduce response times, and harmonize communication processes across the three public institutions.
Minister Zerrouki emphasized that the project aligns with Algeria’s broader strategy to develop a competitive call center industry. The national plan targets 10,000 jobs and $150 million in revenue by 2027, scaling up to 300,000 jobs and $1.2 billion in revenue by 2029 as the sector expands.
The new Ouargla center will begin with around 400 direct jobs, with potential for steady growth. It also supports the government’s push for decentralization, aiming to position southern Algeria as a rising hub for digital investment and service delivery.
The minister reiterated the sector’s commitment to fostering modern call centers across the country, focusing on building human capital and delivering internationally aligned professional service standards. The initiative sets Ouargla on a path to becoming a strategic center for Algeria’s digital economy.
