Saudi Arabia and Bahrain have signed a series of major agreements and MoUs during the fourth meeting of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, co-chaired in Manama by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The session reaffirmed deep bilateral ties and ongoing alignment between the two kingdoms, guided by the directives of King Salman and King Hamad. Both sides emphasized their commitment to strengthening cooperation across economic, diplomatic, developmental, and regulatory fields.
A total of nine agreements and MoUs were signed, covering nuclear safety, taxation, sustainable development, competition policy, education, transport, and investment promotion:
- Nuclear Safety & Radiation Protection MoU between Saudi Arabia’s Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission and Bahrain’s Supreme Council for Environment.
- Diplomatic Studies Cooperation Program between Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute and Mohammed bin Mubarak Academy.
- Agreement to Avoid Double Taxation between both finance ministries.
- Sustainable Development MoU between the Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning and Bahrain’s Ministry of Sustainable Development.
- Competition Promotion MoU between Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Competition and Bahrain’s competition authority.
- Investment Promotion MoU between the Saudi Ministry of Investment and Bahrain’s Ministry of Sustainable Development.
- Transport & Training MoU between Saudi Railway Polytechnic and Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications.
- Higher Education MoU between King Saud University and the University of Bahrain.
- Non-Profit Sector Development MoU between Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development and Bahrain’s Ministry of Social Development.
At the end of the meeting, both Crown Princes praised the constructive outcomes and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation across strategic sectors. The next session of the Coordination Council will be held in Saudi Arabia, with the date to be determined by the General Secretariat.
