Sparkle, TIM Group’s global operator and Italy’s leading international service provider, has strengthened its network presence in Chile by launching a new Point of Presence (PoP) in Santiago. This addition builds on existing nodes in Santiago and Valparaiso, providing greater redundancy, route diversity and improved connectivity for customers across South America.
The new PoP is hosted at Ascenty, one of the region’s fastest-growing digital hubs, and features a 400GBE-enabled router integrated with Sparkle’s global Tier-1 IP backbone, Seabone (AS6762). This enables secure, high-capacity, and scalable IP transit access for carriers, ISPs, OTTs, content networks and enterprises.
Through the Curie submarine cable linking Chile directly to California, Sparkle can deliver low-latency, ultra-high-speed connections to the United States. Combined with other terrestrial and subsea routes—including Monet, Seabras-1, and the upcoming Manta system—Sparkle ensures fully redundant pathways between South and North America.
At the new Santiago PoP, customers will also have access to advanced services such as DDoS Protection and Virtual NAP, allowing virtual connectivity to major Internet Exchange Points without requiring their own infrastructure.
With 54 Points of Presence across the Americas—spanning Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, the U.S., and Venezuela—Sparkle continues to reinforce its leadership in Latin America, supporting growing demand for resilient, international-grade connectivity.
