Telkom Indonesia has officially launched its first neuCentrIX edge data centre in Jayapura, Papua, marking a major step in expanding digital infrastructure to eastern Indonesia. The facility is Telkom’s 28th neuCentrIX data centre nationwide and is designed to support international Tier-II security standards with a total capacity of 96 racks.
The new neuCentrIX Jayapura facility will serve both public and private sector demand across Jayapura and surrounding regions, providing a strong digital foundation for government services and business operations across multiple industries. While Telkom did not disclose the facility’s IT load capacity, it confirmed that the data centre is built to meet global operational and security benchmarks.
Telkom commissioner Rizal Mallarangeng said the project directly supports Indonesia’s Asta Cita national program, which aims to achieve equitable digital infrastructure across the archipelago. He noted that digital access equality is central to national digital sovereignty and that Telkom is building not just networks, but full digital ecosystems to support long-term technological independence.
The Papua Provincial Government welcomed the development, stating that the data centre will play a significant role in accelerating digital transformation across the region. Telkom president director Dian Siswarini added that the facility reflects Telkom’s commitment to ensuring inclusive digital access and strengthening regional digital resilience to meet future technology demands.
