The College of Nursing at Sultan Qaboos University organised the third Nursing Informatics Forum 2025 under the theme “From Academic Innovation to Clinical Implementation,” reinforcing its commitment to digital transformation in healthcare. The forum was held under the auspices of Dr Huda al Numani, Dean of the College of Nursing, with support from Oman LNG, highlighting collaboration between academia and industry.
The event showcased innovative technology-driven projects developed by nursing students as part of the Nursing Informatics course, demonstrating how academic research and learning can be translated into practical clinical solutions. The forum aligns with Oman Vision 2040, particularly its focus on digital innovation, sustainable healthcare systems, and building a knowledge-based economy.
Dr Nasser al Salmi, Head of the Adult Health and Critical Care Department, underscored the growing importance of nursing informatics in modern healthcare. He noted that digital health technologies play a critical role in improving patient safety, care quality, efficiency, and clinical decision-making, and praised students for their creativity and applied innovation.
The forum also served as a platform to encourage stronger collaboration between educational institutions, healthcare providers, and industry partners to support the adoption of digital solutions within Oman’s healthcare sector.
