Orange has reaffirmed its long-standing partnership with African football by announcing its sponsorship of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025, marking its 17th consecutive year as a sponsor of the continent’s flagship football tournament. The competition will take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
As a major telecommunications partner to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Orange will deliver connectivity and digital services designed to enhance the experience for fans, players, and media across Africa. Ten participating national teams are from countries where Orange operates, with six directly sponsored by the Group, reflecting Orange’s deep footprint in African football.
At the center of Orange’s digital engagement is Max it, the Group’s AI-enriched super-app, which currently serves more than 22 million active users across 15 countries. During AFCON 2025, Max it will power a dedicated Digital Fan Zone, offering real-time updates, live match streaming, highlights, interviews, and interactive features such as personalized avatars for fans.
The app is supported by MaxGoal, an AI-powered conversational assistant capable of answering fan questions on fixtures, results, and standings in French, English, Arabic, and selected local languages including Wolof and Darija, ensuring a more inclusive fan experience.
Beyond digital platforms, Orange will establish physical Fan Zones across several African countries. In Morocco, solidarity Fan Zones will be deployed within 25 local associations, including youth centers in both urban and rural areas. These spaces will be equipped with screens, connectivity, and technical infrastructure to ensure broad and equitable access to the tournament.
Orange’s commitment to youth and innovation is further reflected in the Orange Digital Center Champions 2025, held ahead of AFCON. The initiative brought together more than 1,300 young participants from 14 African and Middle Eastern countries to compete in coding challenges, reinforcing the link between sport, technology, and digital skills development.
Yasser Shaker, CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa, said football represents more than sport for the continent, describing it as a unifying force that empowers communities. He added that Max it enables Orange to deliver a fully integrated digital fan experience, bringing supporters closer to the action while celebrating the shared spirit of African football.
Orange has served as CAF’s official and exclusive global telecom partner since 2008 and continues to support major competitions including the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, CAF School Championship, and AFCON 2025. Through innovation and solidarity, Orange says it remains committed to sustainable football development, diversity, and digital inclusion across Africa.
