Saudi Arabia has ranked among the world’s leading countries in security technology, achieving a 99 percent rating, according to Khalid Al-Bakr, CEO of the Kingdom’s Quality of Life Program. Speaking to Al-Eqtisadiah, Al-Bakr said the achievement reflects the impact of advanced security initiatives led by the Ministry of Interior and their role in enhancing public safety and quality of life.
Al-Bakr highlighted the Unified Security Operations Centers (911) in Riyadh, the Eastern Province, Madinah, and Makkah as flagship initiatives delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Interior. These centers generate high-quality data that supports strategic planning and enables rapid response to incidents. He noted that the average response time for emergency reports via 911 is just two seconds, calling it a major technological leap that serves both residents and visitors.
Technology has been deeply integrated into security operations, including the use of body cameras for security personnel, which has contributed to maintaining high levels of public safety and trust. Al-Bakr said these advancements have positioned Saudi Arabia as a global leader in leveraging security technology, making the Kingdom an increasingly attractive destination to live in and visit.
Beyond security, Al-Bakr pointed to broader digital transformation across Ministry of Interior services, where processes such as passport and national ID renewals have become significantly faster and more convenient through digital platforms. He said this transformation has had a direct and positive impact on daily life, reinforcing the Quality of Life Program’s objectives under Vision 2030.
Saudi Arabia’s progress in security technology and digital public services, he added, demonstrates how advanced data-driven systems can strengthen safety, efficiency, and overall societal wellbeing.
