Turkcell Launches Nationwide International Roaming Services in Syria

Turkish telecommunications operator Turkcell has announced the launch of international roaming services across Syria, enabling its subscribers to use mobile services nationwide starting Tuesday. The move marks a significant expansion, as Turkcell’s coverage was previously limited to northern Syria and border regions.

Turkcell CEO Ali Taha Koç confirmed that subscribers traveling in Syria will be able to access internet data, messaging, and voice calls without incurring additional fees. The development is expected to ease communication for Turkish citizens and others traveling to or operating within the country.

Türkiye’s newly appointed ambassador to Syria, Nuh Yilmaz, welcomed the initiative, describing it as a practical step that facilitates daily life and strengthens Türkiye’s on-ground support for the Syrian people. He emphasized that Turkish institutions are actively present and engaged in providing essential services.

By extending full roaming capabilities nationwide, Turkcell reinforces its regional connectivity footprint and supports cross-border mobility at a time when reliable communication remains critical for personal, commercial, and humanitarian needs in Syria.
