The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) has launched a new e-learning programme focused on sustainable development, aimed at building awareness of Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) principles and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The programme targets public and private sector employees, university students, and individual learners seeking to strengthen their understanding of sustainability.
The initiative supports Bahrain’s national priorities around economic diversification and progress toward carbon neutrality, while preparing local talent for emerging roles in the green economy. It is designed to enhance institutional productivity by equipping participants with practical sustainability knowledge aligned with regional and global market needs.
The online programme features interactive learning modules covering core sustainability concepts and current environmental, social, and economic challenges. Content is supported by local and international case studies, data visualisations, expert-led video sessions, and discussion forums that encourage peer learning and real-world application. Standardised assessments help evaluate participant progress and knowledge retention.
Bassam Kazerooni, Acting Head of the Banking Centre at BIBF, said the programme represents a practical contribution to national development goals by strengthening workforce capabilities in sustainable development. Delivered through BIBF’s e-learning platform, the programme offers flexible access, pre- and post-assessments, and a downloadable toolkit with templates and guidance to support implementation across organisations.
