Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc has reinforced its commitment to workplace inclusion and social responsibility by organizing an autism awareness session for employees, as part of its broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework. The initiative was led jointly by the company’s Human Resources and Strategy teams, with health and social well-being positioned as core pillars of stc’s sustainability agenda.
The session was conducted in collaboration with Friends of Autism and delivered by its founder, Abdullah Al Oqab. It focused on raising awareness about autism and equipping employees with practical knowledge to better understand, communicate with, and support individuals on the autism spectrum. The initiative aimed to promote informed, respectful interactions and foster a more inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
Ahmad AlNuwaibet, Director of Public Relations and Social Media at stc Kuwait, said the initiative aligns with the company’s commitment to creating meaningful and sustainable social impact. He noted that stc regularly organizes educational and awareness-driven programs to support health, well-being, and inclusivity, both within the organization and across the wider community.
Abdullah Al Oqab highlighted the importance of such partnerships in building understanding and acceptance of autism in professional environments. He said Friends of Autism was established to support organizations by providing the tools and knowledge needed to engage effectively with individuals diagnosed with autism, contributing to lasting positive social impact.
