Mobile network operators in Bangladesh deployed portable network towers and expanded network capacity to ensure uninterrupted connectivity during the reception marking the return of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman after nearly 17 years. The event took place at the July 36 Expressway area near Kuril Bishwa Road and drew a massive physical and digital audience.
Special connectivity arrangements were made along the 300 Feet–Purbachal Road corridor, with operators preparing to support network demand for up to five million users. Given the growing role of social media in amplifying political events, operators anticipated significant pressure on both data bandwidth and voice traffic.
All three private mobile operators implemented artificial intelligence-based network management systems to optimise transmission, balance traffic loads, and manage congestion in real time. Network capacity was strengthened through expanded antenna coverage, additional radio frequency resources, and enhanced tower infrastructure in and around the event area.
Robi Axiata deployed five Cellular on Wheels (COW) units and reinforced coverage by sharing capacity with nearby sites, alongside continuous speed testing. Banglalink installed three COW units and completed early-morning technical preparations across key corridors including the airport route, Banani, Gulshan, Pragati Sarani, and surrounding areas. Grameenphone enhanced existing network capacity and implemented contingency measures, though it did not disclose specific deployment details. Information on preparations by state-owned Teletalk was not available at the time of reporting.
Due to advance planning and overnight network upgrades, no major disruptions or complaints related to call quality or video streaming were reported during the event.
