e& UAE Marks Regional First with Live 5.5G Four-Carrier Aggregation Deployment

e& UAE has achieved a regional first with the commercial launch of four-carrier aggregation on its live 5.5G network, combining Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) and Time Division Duplex (TDD) spectrum. The milestone enables smartphones to simultaneously access four carriers, delivering faster and more stable connectivity across high-traffic areas.

The FDD-TDD integration allows the network to exceed peak downlink speeds of 4 Gbps on compatible devices while maintaining consistent coverage and reliability. By leveraging FDD’s wide coverage and TDD’s high throughput, the deployment significantly enhances network capacity and efficiency, supporting data-intensive applications such as 8K video streaming, cloud gaming, and advanced enterprise services.

e& UAE stated that the achievement reflects strong ecosystem readiness, with capabilities delivered on commercially available smartphones. The operator continues to advance its 5G-Advanced roadmap, having recently reached uplink speeds of 600 Mbps on a live network, further strengthening both download and upload performance.

The four-carrier aggregation capability is already live in select areas, with broader rollout planned from 2026 onwards. The approach also supports seamless Voice over New Radio services and ongoing spectrum refarming from 4G to 5G, reinforcing e& UAE’s long-term network evolution strategy.
