Ericsson and Zain Bahrain Expand Strategic Partnership to Launch Advanced 5G Edge Solutions

Ericsson and Zain Bahrain have expanded their strategic partnership to introduce advanced 5G capabilities in Bahrain, centered on Ericsson’s Local Packet Gateway solution with Edge User Plane technology. The initiative strengthens the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure and supports its vision for a sustainable, innovation-driven digital economy.

The deployment enhances Zain Bahrain’s network with ultra-low latency, optimized performance, and more secure and resilient connectivity. These capabilities are designed to enable Industry 4.0 use cases, including AI-powered predictive maintenance, autonomous systems, and real-time monitoring across industrial and enterprise environments.

By bringing traffic processing closer to end users, the new 5G edge solutions allow businesses and government entities to accelerate digital transformation, streamline operations, and improve efficiency.
