Jordan’s Mobile Subscriptions Rise to 8.48 Million in Q3 2025 as Data and 5G Usage Surge

Jordan’s telecommunications sector recorded steady growth in the third quarter of 2025, with mobile subscriptions rising to 8.48 million, up from 8.26 million a year earlier, according to the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC). The increase represents a 2.6% year-on-year growth and reflects sustained demand for mobile and digital services across the Kingdom.

Internet subscriptions also expanded to 824,300, marking a 3.1% increase compared with the same period in 2024. Mobile broadband subscriptions reached 8.48 million, with prepaid lines accounting for 65% and post-paid for 35%. Subscriptions combining voice and data represented 80% of the total, while data-only lines made up the remaining 20%.

Mobile broadband data usage saw a sharp rise, climbing 17.6% year-on-year to 767.5 million gigabytes. Mobile penetration reached 71.4% of the total population and 110% among residents aged over 15. Meanwhile, mobile voice traffic totaled approximately 7.3 billion minutes, with local calls accounting for the vast majority.

The report highlighted strong momentum in 5G adoption, with subscriptions increasing to 287,000 in Q3 2025, up 19.1% from the previous quarter and more than quadrupling compared with the same quarter last year. Fixed broadband subscriptions also grew modestly, driven largely by fiber-optic connections, while fixed-line voice subscriptions and traffic continued to decline.

Industry experts noted that rising data consumption and growing confidence in advanced network technologies are reshaping consumer behavior and increasing pressure on operators to invest further in network capacity, quality, and reliability.
