The telecommunications sector in North Al Batinah Governorate has launched a new outlet for the “Nafadh” initiative in the Wilayat of A’Suwaiq, marking the first time the program has been introduced outside Muscat Governorate. The move reflects a wider strategy to expand the initiative across multiple governorates in the Sultanate of Oman.
The initiative is designed to provide a supportive working environment for freelancers in telecommunications and information technology. It focuses on empowering participants through incubator-style training that helps transform technical skills into market-ready digital products and services, strengthening their role in the digital economy and enabling flexible, sustainable employment.
“Nafadh” follows an intensive, hands-on model centered on real-world projects in systems and application development. Participants are prepared to contribute to digital transformation initiatives aligned with the evolving needs of the telecommunications labor market.
Targeting graduates in telecommunications and network engineering, the program offers pathways into employment with sector companies, as well as opportunities in freelancing and entrepreneurship. Since its launch, the initiative has qualified 94 national talents, helped more than 36 participants secure jobs, enabled six graduates to work independently, and currently supports 52 trainees preparing to become independent business owners.
