UAE-Based Entertainment Leaders Expand into Africa as True Gamers Launches in Morocco

Abu Dhabi / Casablanca
Over the past decade, UAE-based companies have become some of the most active international investors across Africa, channeling more than $100 billion into infrastructure, energy, logistics, and digital transformation projects.

As part of this broader continental expansion — increasingly extending into technology and creative industries — Emirati-founded companies are now bringing scalable digital and entertainment models beyond the Middle East, with Africa emerging as the next strategic growth region.

Continuing this trajectory, True Gamers, one of the leading gaming and digital entertainment networks in the MENA region and headquartered in Abu Dhabi, has officially entered the African market with the opening of its first venue in Morocco.

The launch marks a new chapter in the company’s international expansion and reflects the growing role of UAE-based enterprises in shaping emerging digital ecosystems across new continents.

Morocco was selected as the company’s entry point into Africa due to its stability, strong digital infrastructure, and strategic position at the intersection of Africa, Europe, and the Arab world.

As the country continues to attract international investment into its creative and technology-led sectors, it is increasingly viewed as a natural partner for companies from the Gulf seeking long-term regional presence.

Casablanca, Morocco’s economic and cultural capital, provides an ideal platform for this expansion. Its young, digitally engaged population and vibrant urban culture make it a testing ground for international-format gaming and community-driven entertainment concepts.

“Expansion beyond the Middle East is a natural step for UAE-born companies that have built scalable, internationally competitive models,” said Vlad Belyanin, founder of True Gamers.

“With more than 35 million internet users and over 92% online penetration, Morocco offers a strong foundation for building sustainable gaming communities. From Casablanca, we aim to contribute to the development of Africa’s digital entertainment landscape while working closely with local partners and talent.”

Morocco’s gaming and digital entertainment sector is entering a phase of accelerated growth. The local gaming market is estimated at MAD 2.24 billion, with annual video game revenues projected to reach approximately US $300 million in the coming years.

As UAE expertise in digital infrastructure, community building, and entertainment converges with Africa’s fast-growing youth markets, initiatives led by companies such as True Gamers are expected to play a growing role in shaping the continent’s creative economy.
