Iraq Emerges as Jordan’s Second-Largest Market for Technology Exports

Iraq ranked second among destinations for Jordan’s engineering, electrical, and information technology exports during the first nine months of 2025, according to figures released by the Jordan Chamber of Industry. Exports to these sectors reached 1.231 billion Jordanian dinars, approximately $1.74 billion, marking a 10.4 percent increase from 1.115 billion dinars recorded in the same period of 2024.

The chamber described the engineering, electrical, and IT sector as a cornerstone of Jordan’s industrial output, with total production nearing 2 billion dinars, or about $2.82 billion. Export distribution data showed the United States as the largest market, accounting for 48 percent of total exports, followed by Iraq with a 12 percent share. Saudi Arabia ranked third with 8 percent, while Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates accounted for 5 percent and 4 percent respectively.

Separate data from the Amman Chamber of Commerce indicated that Iraq was Jordan’s largest overall export destination in the first eleven months of 2025. During this period, Iraqi imports from Jordan reached approximately $771 million, supported by the issuance of 3,207 certificates of origin, highlighting the growing depth of bilateral trade ties between the two countries.
