e& UAE, the flagship telecom arm of global technology group e&, has released a new strategic white paper titled “Integrated Sensing and Communication in 6G: e&’s Perspective on Strategic Applications, Monetization Potential, and Global Roadmap.” The paper outlines e&’s vision for the evolution of mobile networks beyond connectivity, positioning 6G as an infrastructure capable of sensing and understanding the physical world in real time.
The report focuses on Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC), widely regarded as a core capability of future 6G standards. ISAC enables mobile networks to use radio signals simultaneously for communication and radar-like sensing, allowing networks to detect objects, track movement, and monitor environments without relying on additional sensors or cameras.
According to e& UAE, this shift represents a move toward “spatial intelligence,” where base stations function as distributed sensors delivering real-time situational awareness. The white paper presents a detailed roadmap covering strategic applications and commercial opportunities, including industrial automation, drone airspace management, autonomous vehicle collision avoidance, and privacy-preserving healthcare monitoring.
The document also examines monetization models such as Sensing-as-a-Service, vertical-specific solution packages, and service-level-agreement-based safety slices designed for reliability-critical use cases. It further ranks market opportunities across sectors including manufacturing, transportation, public safety, and immersive media.
Highlighting recent progress, the paper references e& UAE’s ISAC drone detection pilot showcased during GITEX 2025 and ongoing Terahertz spectrum trials as part of its 6G research efforts. The white paper is aimed at industry leaders, policymakers, and technology strategists seeking practical guidance on what to pilot and commercialize on the path to 6G.
