New Aramco Digital network to boost industrial connectivity in Saudi Arabia

Aramco Digital, the technology subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, is preparing to launch the Kingdom’s national industrial communications network operating in the 450 MHz band. The network is designed to deliver secure, highly reliable connectivity nationwide, supporting sectors that depend on continuous operations and mission-critical communications.

As part of the rollout, Aramco Digital will introduce a full portfolio of 450 MHz-based industrial digital solutions, including sector-specific connectivity packages and a new generation of smart radios engineered for harsh industrial environments.

The smart radios feature rugged, industrial-grade designs combined with advanced capabilities such as AI integration, enhanced sensing technologies, improved energy efficiency for longer battery life, and real-time data processing at the device level. These features are intended to improve operational accuracy, reliability, and continuity in complex conditions.

The network will support a wide range of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications, including asset condition and performance monitoring, fleet and equipment tracking, environmental and air-quality sensing, smart video surveillance, metering, lighting and infrastructure control, as well as industrial mobility and fleet management solutions.

By enabling greater transparency, automation, and efficiency across industrial and service sectors, the network is expected to play a key role in the Kingdom’s next phase of industrial development and contribute to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Aramco Digital stated that the initiative will provide a highly dependable national communications backbone to support advanced automation, intelligent systems, and digital services across critical sectors.
