Botim money collaborates with Mastercard to expand and accelerate embedded cross-border payments

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: botim money, the financial services arm of botim serving millions of users across the UAE and beyond, has announced a strategic collaboration with Mastercard to expand its global remittance capabilities through Mastercard Move. The integration enables botim money users to send funds from the UAE to more than 150 countries, with payouts delivered to bank accounts, mobile wallets, or cash pickup locations, depending on the destination market, directly from the botim app.

By embedding Mastercard Move’s money movement capabilities, botim money now offers fast, secure, and seamless international transfers within a single platform. Users can initiate cross-border payments without leaving the app or switching between service providers, reducing friction and simplifying the remittance experience.

Dr. Tariq Bin Hendi, Board Member of Astra Tech and CEO of botim, said the collaboration strengthens the company’s mission to unify communication and finance within one ecosystem. He noted that embedding global remittances into botim makes money transfers faster, safer, and more inclusive, particularly for users with limited access to traditional financial services.

Gina Petersen-Skyrme, Country Manager for UAE and Oman at Mastercard, said cross-border payments play a vital role for expatriate communities. She added that Mastercard’s work with fintech platforms such as botim expands access to fast, secure, and affordable international transfers, supporting financial inclusion by placing essential services directly in users’ hands.

The integration combines Mastercard’s global payments infrastructure with botim’s expanding financial ecosystem, enabling UAE users to transfer money internationally with just a few taps. Payout methods vary by market and include bank accounts, mobile wallets, cards, and cash, ensuring flexibility for recipients.

The collaboration aligns with the UAE’s broader digital economy objectives and reflects the country’s push toward cashless, interoperable payment systems under the guidance of the Central Bank of the UAE. It also reinforces Mastercard’s role in strengthening fintech ecosystems while enabling botim money to deliver regulated, consumer-centric financial services at scale.

Mastercard Move provides access to more than 200 countries and territories and over 150 currencies, reaching more than 95 percent of the world’s banked population. botim money, licensed by the Central Bank of the UAE as both a Stored Value Facility and Retail Payment Services provider, continues to expand its portfolio, which includes local and international remittances, prepaid cards, bill payments, credit, and salary disbursement tools.

botim, part of Astra Tech’s ecosystem, serves over 157 million users across 155 countries. Built on its origins as the UAE’s first free VoIP service, it has evolved into a multi-layered fintech platform offering integrated services through botim connect, botim money, and botim finance.

botim money powers the platform’s financial services layer, providing digital wallets, money transfers, lending, and payment solutions.
